I admit it I like Howard Stern

I know a lot of people do not like this guy, I know I did not for years. My best friend loved the guy but I could never get into him. But my wife gave me a Sirius Radio last year so I could listen to http://www.radiomargaritaville.com/!!!!! and yes I did listen a lot. One day as I was scanning the radio I came across Howard Stern. I listened in small doses and found out that I really like what he programs. Some of the stuff he does is over the top but for the most part it is just Great Radio.
He has some people he calls the Wack Pack and they are funny as hell. People can say he takes advantage of them. If you listen to the show you will know that he takes care of the Wack Packers.
He had http://www.paulmccartney.com/ on the other day. I have never been a fan of his really I always thought he was a pom pas ass. I had never met him it just seemed that the media portrayed him as thinking he was better then everyone else. But after the Howard interview with him I found that I liked the guy. He almost seemed like a guy you could to a bar with and have a beer.. Howard did that in 30 minutes. It was great and he does that kind of thing with everyone he interviews.. Unlike the the main stream media he asks the hard questions and he will keep pressing. Sure he asks a lot of weird questions but I think that it opens the guests up.

I would say give Howard a shot. He turned me around. Now I listen everyday and I have to listen to all his best of stuff when he is gone.

The Weight loss Saga day 4

This is my 4th day without caffine. The first 2 days were bad, I had a serious headache but now I feel just fine. I guess the Mega Man Multi-Vitamen I am taking is helping with that so that is good. Plus my energy level has been great, I was afraid that I would suffer fatigue when I gave up coffee. But that is not the case..

I weighed in yesterday and was down 4 pounds since Saturday, I take that as a small victory. I know there is lots more to do but for now I will take it.
In my last editon of the saga, I told you I was using the GNC Total Body Cleansing system. I am not really sure how well it is working.. I have not noticed much difference in the restroom except for the color of my urine.  But I will say that being on the product and thinking that it is working has helped me eat better all week..  I have made good choices for the most part and have been watching the portions. So I consider that a good side of the product.

I have been pretty this week so I have not hit the gym. That is the goal for next week, I will also start taking  Super Foods Supreme, I have heard good things about that product and will be exited to give it a shot..

Tune in Thursday for my Blog post on Howard Stern

The First day of the Weight Lose Saga

So yesterday I started the quest to lose some weight and try to get  healthy!!

I decided to try the GNC Total Body Cleansing Program. Maybe a little extreme but I had to try something. Everything else I have tried has failed, so I figured why not go for the gusto.

First off there are a lot of pills involved in doing this program and I am not a big pill taker. But I am still doing it anyways.

Second you really need to prepare and shop for this.  I am not following the menu as close as I should but I have been eating a lot better and not as much so that is a good thing

Third I have been drinking a ton of water.. I have been going to the restroom quite a bit. So I am thinking the Liver and Kidney cleaning is going good..  The other area's to be cleansed have not really kicked in yet from the results in restroom.  I will just leave it at that.

I am suffering from a major headache today. It has been 2 days without coffee and I am sure that is what is causing it. Still it really sucks but I will press on because that is what I have to do.

That is today's update on the weight loss saga

My Thoughts on the events of the Day

So  now George Bush is gone and back in Texas, and Barack Obama is now in the White House.  I know things are not going to happen over night, but I have faith in President Obama. I think he has new fresh ideas. We as a country need to realize that he cannot do it by himself, he needs us to help him out. He can put out all the idea's but WE have be behind him and support him.

One thing I really wonder about.  If Hillary Clinton had been elected would the turn out have been as big? I know President Obama became the first African American President and he had many people there to see history. When we get the first woman President will the people come in mass to see hear sworn in the same way?
That was just something that crossed my mind today.

I am excited to see what President Obama can do, No man in the history of this country has ever had this much pressure on him. I must say I do not envy him one bit, everything he does is going to be put under a microscope. Some people are going to love him and some are going to hate him. Some people are going to love his idea's and some are going to hate them. I just hope that he can cross the aisle and get everyone to work together.

Spring Training 28 days away

We are 28 days away from my favorite time of year. BASEBALL SEASON. I cannot wait for Katie and I to make our annual trip for KC for Outdoor baseball and Jack Stack BBQ (The Best BBQ in KC). This will be our 3rd year of hopping on 35w south and following all of our fellow Twins fans all the way to KC.

We are 28 days away but the Twins are still making some headlines leading up to it. We are in the running for former Cy Young Pitcher E Gagne. He may not be the pitcher of 2003 but the second half of last year he was a very good bullpen option for the Brewers. I would not mind seeing Gagne pitch the  7Th or 8Th inning for the Twins.

News also came out this week that the Twins have passed the halfway point in spending money that is being used to build the stadium. (Any chance they change from Target Field to Carl Pohlad Memorial Field)
The outside of the stadium should be pretty much complete by the end of 2009. And the  Twins will hopefully get the key to the park on  March 3rd 2010.

News also came out  that the Twins are nearing a Franchise record in season ticket sales. They should hit 11,000 season tickets sold before opening day. Amazing what getting seating priority for a new stadium for ticket sales..

It is nice that even when the Twins are not on the field we still get a little bit of baseball to talk about.

The Winter Blah's

Does anyone else not like this time of year when  it comes to sports. I know we have the Wild and Timberwolves but they still do not have the appeal of the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins. Those seem to be the big 2 and have the biggest following.

The NFL is all but over. Sure there  are a few weeks left in the season but without the hometown team, no one watches with the same passion as they were just a few short weeks ago.  I know I find myself surfing more and more during games.. If I miss a play now it is no big deal.

We are a month from Spring Training right now and 2 months away from being able to watch the team.. I wish they would televise more Spring Trianing games. It would make the winter Blah's easier to take. I know I can't wait for the home team 9 to take the field!!!

I know the Wild and Wolves have thier following but it is not the same. I can not seem to watch a whole game of either team. Not sure why but it does not motivate to watch.

We may have  saving grace now though!!!! Tubby and the Gophers, The Barn is going to be the hottest ticket to get this winter and spring. The way the boyz are playing they are already beating the Wolves in attendence. This is a great young team and is only going to get better. I know I will be attending  few games yet this season. This used to be the hottest ticket in town and soon it wil be again.

Cold Cold Cold

So this morning at 2am when I went out to deliver the papers the temperature in the car said-20. I cannot remember the last time it was this cold... Man it is so cold you have open the freezer to heat the house. What gets me mad is the people who I deliver to that complain the paper is not right to their when the weather is this cold.. Yours is not the only paper I deliver and it gets very cold for us. So cut us a break.

Where are all the idiots saying crap about global warming, right now i would take some ozone warming. Bring it on..

What is up with the East Coast Media, NBC and all the weather idiots are complaining that it is 18 degree's in New  York.  I can speak for most people in the Upper Midwest that we would do anything to be ABOVE ZERO These guys make it seem like the world is ending just because it is below freezing.. Hey Al Roker come on up to Minnesota and see some real cold weather, I will gladly give you a guided tour.

Everyone please slow down and be careful to look out for Black Ice.. You cannot  see it and it usually occurs when the temps hit 10 below zero

Tubby Smith and the Gophers

Something happened yesterday in the middle of all the NFL hoopla. The Minnesota Golden Gophers came of age. This team is pretty young and has been counting on Junior Collage tranfers Devron Bostick (7-for-8 shooting, 19 points) and Paul Carter (5-for-6, 14) to come through and they did coming off the bench. Devron finally looks comfortable on this team now. If these to can continue to grow and put up numbers, the Gophers may be contenders for the Big Ten Title a year earlier the expected.
In watching this game it took me back to the Clem Haskins days. They were a up and down team and looking to make the extra pass to get the open shot. It is looking more and more like the trade mark of this team is going to be the defense. Every time the Gophers went into the Full Court Press, Penn State had no answer. The Defense was smothering, it was a mixture of great one on one D and awesome team D. I must admit I stopped watching the football game to watch the Gophers. I can tell you it has been years since I have done that. It is looking more and more like getting a ticket to Williams Arena is going to be hard to get.

Nice job Tubby, Thanks for putting Gophers hoops back on the map

Weather Idiots and Traffic

Can they ever get anything right? I do not know how many time in the last month they have been wrong. You turn on the TV or the Radio and they say that a major snow event is on the way. So you wait and plan for it and it never comes. My god how can I get their job, they are always wrong but still have  jobs. Maybe on my blog I will start doing weather casts. I know I cannot be any worse then they are.

Weather brings me to the the next rant. Hey Idiots, when it snows the roads become slippery, SLOW DOWN.
When I pass you and see you in the ditch all I can do is laugh a little I am sure you were driving to fast for the conditions. Do you think you have some super car that Snow and Ice will not effect? If you do you should sell the Technology because you will be a rich person.

On the topic of crappy drivers!! What is with all the tailgating? I bet I see 5-6 tailgating accidents everyday. Why do you feel the need to get so close? Do you think it is going to make the person change lanes? It's not so get over it and back off.

Okay now I think I got a few rants in I feel better now.. Now i don't have to kick the dog!!! Just kidding  I would never kick a dog

I would really like to see the Twins make a play for a upgrade at a 3rd base. Brian Buscher and Brendan Harrisare not great options there. When the season ended Billy Smith said he was not happy with what we had at 3rd base and then after the Winter Meetings, he comes out and he says "I will be okay going into the season with what we have at 3rd base".
What happened in between those times? What happened to wanting to upgrade?
The Indains, White Sox and Royals have all upgraded while we have stood pat, Last year we missed winning the Division by 1 game. It will not be as easy this year.
Do the Twins really want to go the World Series or are they just happy making a run at the playoffs? I have been a fan for 35 years and it seems like they are happy just competing.. In 1987 and 1991 we caught lighting in a bottle. We signed the players that we needed to win. Now we trade those big players away.

Okay this is my first time Blogging I promise it will get better
